I had dinner the other night with a friend who is an exceptional school principal. We were discussing the population of her school and the fact that the majority of the students are underprivileged. It’s unfortunately a vicious cycle that is going to be hard from them to break out of because their parents are not teaching them that education is important. She has to walk a fine line but, she works hard to teach them lessons that they are not being taught at home hoping that they graduate from her school with an understanding of how important it is to get a good education. It’s sad to think that there are children who don’t have the opportunity to get an education and then you have others who don’t appreciate what we have.
